Memorable Southwest Trip

I had an absolutely amazing time through on the southwest trip with fabulous teachers and friends for one week.  I went to so many special places such as the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go there and I was able to have a various experiences at the Grand Canyon. In addition, I ate a ton of southwest food and spicy food during this trip. This trip was most memorable for me for three reason for that.

Amazing Grand Canyon
First, I had many most amazing memories at the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go to  the Grand Canyon, so my dreams came true. We went to the Mather point at first. That was my first time to see the Grand Canyon. I was really surprised and impressed. It was like a picture, so I was really confused when I was saw that. Then I went to the next point to see the sunset. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I was really impressed. The next day, I woke up early. I went to Yaki point to see the sunrise with teachers. That day was really cold and windy, so when I was seeing the sunrise I was really freezing. However I was able to see the totally gorgeous sunrise view. I was impressed again. Then I rode a bicycle at the Grand Canyon with my friends. That was really a good experience for us, so we were excited. When we were riding a bicycle, we could see a beautiful view and we felt such a so good wind of the Grand Canyon. I had a totally memorable time in the Grand canyon. I want to go the Grand Canyon again before I die.

Pueblo burger
Second, the food on the Southwest trip was totally amazing. We often asked shop staff about recommended restaurants. We know that shop staff know where  good restaurants are, so we always tried to find a good restaurant. Thanks to them, we were able to get a good meals every time, especially pueblo burger. I ate a pueblo burger, when we are in Albuquerque. That was my first time to eat a Pueblo burger. It was a little different from an ordinary hamburger to Pueblo burger. The different day, I ate a Enchilada in Santa Fe. I didn't know that food. This was really spicy. I don't like spicy food, so when I was eating this, my face turned to red. However it was really tasty. Then I often ate a taco in various places. Tacos are really famous in southwest. Almost all restaurant has a taco menu, so it was hard to decide a meal. My favorite taco was the taco that I ate in Santa Fe. That was really big, so it was hard to eat everything. However I enjoyed Southwest foods with my friends. I want to eat these food of Southwest again.
Adobe building

Third, I was able to see some amazing southwest buildings in Albuquerque. Almost all building of Albuquerque were made by Adobe. It's really different between Spokane to Albuquerque. I felt like I was in a foreign country that's why I really liked that. Turquoise is famous in Southwest, so I often saw turquoise blue window flame on the Adobe buildings. Then, I went to Acoma Pueblo. Acoma Pueblo is Native American Pueblo about 60 miles away from Albuquerque. Some Native Americans are still living in there now. I was really surprised about that. They were selling a traditional pottery and food. These building were so historical, traditional and interesting for me.

In the end, I had a good experience at the Grand Canyon, and I ate a ton of Southwest food and I was really impressed by the atmosphere of the adobe buildings. I was able to learn a lot of things through this trip and We could speak English a lot with friends and teachers. I will never forget this trip.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...

My Unbelievable Southwest Trip

I experienced a lot of amazing things for seven days with my absolutely wonderful teachers and friends from October 15-21 and learned a lot of Southwest culture, history, and nature. For example, we went to about 12 museums and facilities, such as the Pueblo Cultural Center, the University of Mexico, and some churches in New Mexico and Arizona. Therefore, I kept busy on the trip, but it became something I have never experienced because everything I saw was new to me. There are three things that especially impressed me. First, I was attracted to the buildings of New Mexico. These were really different from Spokane, Boston, or Washington D.C. For example, I went to Old Town in Albuquerque. Then I noticed that almost all the buildings were made of adobe. Adobe means mud brick in Spanish, so the buildings I saw were brown and some parts were air blue. I felt comfortable there. I also saw a plaza and a church which were adobe style buildings. The plaza is the most central part in Old T...
