Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican ...

My Valuable Southwest Trip

Last week, we took a trip to the Southwest for 7 days. This trip was an absolutely wonderful memory. I had never been to these areas so I was stimulated by every things, for example, cactus, adobe style buildings, Native American culture and amazing dessert views. It is one of the most interesting trips I ever took, because I experienced some rare things like visiting Grand Canyon, visiting high school and so on. On this trip I could understand about Indian culture from a folk art museum. I would like to introduce some my best memories on this Southwest trip. My first best memory is Georgia O’Keef museum. Actually, before this trip, I was not familiar with her and didn’t know about any of her artworks, but I was looking forward to visiting here because I like art museums. Her artworks were very unique, abstract and absolutely fabulous, and these were very fresh to me. I especially liked bone’s paintings which one of the most famous her artwork, because the color contrast is very c...

My Unbelievable Southwest Trip

I experienced a lot of amazing things for seven days with my absolutely wonderful teachers and friends from October 15-21 and learned a lot of Southwest culture, history, and nature. For example, we went to about 12 museums and facilities, such as the Pueblo Cultural Center, the University of Mexico, and some churches in New Mexico and Arizona. Therefore, I kept busy on the trip, but it became something I have never experienced because everything I saw was new to me. There are three things that especially impressed me. First, I was attracted to the buildings of New Mexico. These were really different from Spokane, Boston, or Washington D.C. For example, I went to Old Town in Albuquerque. Then I noticed that almost all the buildings were made of adobe. Adobe means mud brick in Spanish, so the buildings I saw were brown and some parts were air blue. I felt comfortable there. I also saw a plaza and a church which were adobe style buildings. The plaza is the most central part in Old T...

My Fantastic Experiences on the Southwest Trip

I went to the southwest in the U.S, especially New Mexico state and Arizona state from October 15th to October 21th. I experienced a lot of things there with my fabulous friends who were my classmates, and teachers. Also, I was able to make a lot of fantastic memories on this trip, such as making new friends and viewing the sunset and sunrise at the Grand Canyon. The reason we visit New Mexico and Arizona was a kind of educational tour for us, like its history and nature. There are three fantastic things I experienced. The University of New Mexico First of all, the sensational thing I experienced was visiting the University of New Mexico. I experienced two rare things. First, a woman guided us around this school, and she talked about it a lot. I was able to learn about the school because she explained it thoroughly. I was surprised that this school had seven museums and a duck pond. The museums are free of charge, and people can hold their wedding near the duck pond. We were ...

Amazing Southwest Trip

I went on the Southwest trip. I was looking forward to going on this trip because I could go to places I personally would not go to such as lots of museums and place that have nice views. I saw scenery I had never seen before. I could see traditional buildings, dances and clothes and I was able to feel the difference of culture with Japan. There were three things that were especially interesting to me. First,Black Bart Restaurant was an absolutely wonderful place. The atmosphere of the shop was very cool. A model of the face of buffalo and deer were decorated on the walls, and the appearance was the image of a hut. The wait staff sang songs such as A Whole New World. When we tried to go back to our hotel, the song started, so I went back to our hotel after listening to it. I liked the Disney's songs most. I was so lucky. I ate turkey. It was absolutely enormous size and delicious. The bread that I ate before eating turkey was also very tasty. The butter which was attached to t...

Wonderful Southwest Trip

Our Extension program Southwest trip was absolutely amazing. I went to many places, such as Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Flagstaff. In each place, I did many enjoyable learning things, experienced some things for the first time, and I was impressed by visiting the same age students. This trip became a precious memory in my life and I want to tell about this wonderful trip to my family and friends. I definitely will not forget these experiences. There are especially three exciting things that impressed me. University of New Mexico First, I enjoyed talking with the University of New Mexico students. They were learning Japanese, so we used Japanese and English to talk about ourselves. I was impressed with their attitude about learning Japanese, so I thought I have to learn English harder and harder, like them. My partner’s major is anatomy, but he likes language, so he wants to change his major from anatomy to linguistics. I was surprised and respect him because he is younger t...

Memorable Southwest Trip

I had an absolutely amazing time through on the southwest trip with fabulous teachers and friends for one week.  I went to so many special places such as the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go there and I was able to have a various experiences at the Grand Canyon. In addition, I ate a ton of southwest food and spicy food during this trip. This trip was most memorable for me for three reason for that. Amazing Grand Canyon First, I had many most amazing memories at the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go to  the Grand Canyon, so my dreams came true. We went to the Mather point at first. That was my first time to see the Grand Canyon. I was really surprised and impressed. It was like a picture, so I was really confused when I was saw that. Then I went to the next point to see the sunset. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I was really impressed. The next day, I woke up early. I went to Yaki point to see the sunrise with teachers. That day was really cold and windy, so whe...
