My Memorable Portland Trip

Do you know that Portland is said to be one of the best places to live? Portland, "the City of Roses", is the largest city in Oregon. Extension students went to Portland to learn history and culture from November 9th to 12th. I understood why Portland is said to be one of the best place to live. Portland is artistic, peaceful and fantastic. There are three memorable things with you from my trip: Columbia Basin College, the Portland Art Museum, and Powell's Bookstore. the memorable photo at CBC First of all, the experience to visit the Columbia Basin College gave me a precious memory. In the last semester, I met some students from the Columbia Basin College for volunteering. I met them again in this semester on the trip. The Legendary Himeji Castle

What do you know about Himeji castle? Now, there are only twelve Japanese castles considered original castles that survived with an intact main tower. In the old days, there were more than 25,000 castles in Japan. Japanese castles were built strategically in places considered easy to defend from upheaval. Why is Himeji castle especially famous among a number of castles? Himeji castle is totally different from other castles because of history, appearance, and design. It shows aesthetic expression of Japan and characterizes the city of Himeji. It is a time capsule of Japanese history and drama. I promise that your view of Himeji castle will be completely changed after the presentation.

I went to Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Arizona, and Phoenix for the Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute Extension  program for a week, from October 9 to 15. The Extension program has 2 trips to learn about American culture and history. One of them is the Southwest Trip. I was able to learn many things, and experience what I could never do in Japan. It was the best school trip for me ever for three reasons. First, I could enjoy the challenge of trying new cultural food during the trip. I found two favorite Mexican dishes. For one of them, I ate Kebab at Blackhouse Steakhouse in Albuquerque. What is Kebab? Kebab is pieces of meat and vegetables grilled on a long thin stick. It was the first time for me to eat it, and I love it! I also enjoyed the restaurant. All of the staff can sing and perform. They sung many...
