MFWI Extension Writing Class

From October 12 to 18, 2015, we Extension students went to the Southwest. We visited New Mexico and Arizona. The Southwest has a very different climate and culture from Japan and Spokane because it is a very dry area. Therefore we could see many kind of plants and animals, and we ate spicy food every day, and learned history and culture. This trip was very exciting and interesting for me. This is my best memory in my life. We experienced a lot of new thing, such as the Grand Canyon and the University of New Mexico, and I ate Mexican food for the first time. Beautiful Grand Canyon First of all, on the Southwest trip, my best memory is of course the Grand Canyon. I love world heritage. And seeing the Grand Canyon was my dream from childhood.  I went to the Spokane County Fair last week with my friends. I have never been to County Fair. I just  have seen them in TV program. So I was looking forward to going to County Fair. Now, I will tell about 3 things. I saw for the first time. There are 3 things. I saw for the fast time. First, I saw a lot of funny foods for the first time. For example, elephant ear, Greek foods and Italian foods. I wanted eat all of them but I did not have much money so I gave up to buy them but I ate a hot-dog in America for the first time! It was very delicious and had deep taste. Then my friends bought piroshki. I heard Piroshki  is Russian food from my friends for the first time again. It has cheese and beef in the piroshki. And my friend told me the shop sold them with cream and chocolate in the piroshki. I felt it was little bit strange for me. But it looked so every kind of food interesting for me! Night View I had a really great time with my friends at Spokane County Interstate Fair last week. Since there were a lot of things at the fair, which were quite different from Japanese festivals, I was surprised a lot. Above all, the difference of food was really interesting for me, just because I love to eat. I could try a lot of kinds of food, which we cannot eat in Japan. Some of the food looked a little strange and greasy, however, all of it was tasty! There was three main kinds of food which I tried at the fair. Curry French Freies  First, as soon as we arrived, I found that a lot of people were eating curly, enormous French fries. Though I was really surprised at the size of them, I decided to try some, soon. When I found the shop, I was also surprised at how to order. The ordering line and getting the order were different lines. The ordering place and picking up the order were in different lines. Therefore it would be possible for someone to not pay the money...

★Steak hamburger shop★ September 15, 2015, I went to the Spokane County Fair and experienced wonderful things. I was very excited because a lot of things, such as delicious food, attraction, cute animals, interesting market, and great music attracted me! There are three experiences for me. At first, soon after we arrived at the Spokane Country Fair, we noticed great smell soon. The great smell’s identify was a big steak hamburger. Before arriving the Fair, we decided to ride roller coaster first, but we changed our mind soon because the hamburger smell attracted us and we couldn’t bear it. Therefore, we went to hamburger shop quickly. When we arrived at the shop, there was a long line in front of hamburger shop. As I thought, the big steak hamburger was very delicious and it is medium rare. My friend gave me a peace of pumpkin doughnut. It was also freshly hot, sweet, and very delicious!
