My wonderful expressions at the Spokane County Fair

★Steak hamburger shop★

September 15, 2015, I went to the Spokane County Fair and experienced wonderful things. I was very excited because a lot of things, such as delicious food, attraction, cute animals, interesting market, and great music attracted me! There are three experiences for me.

At first, soon after we arrived at the Spokane Country Fair, we noticed great smell soon. The great smell’s identify was a big steak hamburger. Before arriving the Fair, we decided to ride roller coaster first, but we changed our mind soon because the hamburger smell attracted us and we couldn’t bear it. Therefore, we went to hamburger shop quickly. When we arrived at the shop, there was a long line in front of hamburger shop. As I thought, the big steak hamburger was very delicious and it is medium rare. My friend gave me a peace of pumpkin doughnut. It was also freshly hot, sweet, and very delicious! All foods were very delicious!

★Beautiful Merry-go-round★

After eating the hamburger, we road many kind of roller coasters. Surprisingly, those were built for this fair. I like roller coasters, but actually, I am always scared of them. Therefore, although I lined up for the very scary roller coaster with my friends, at first sight, I gave up soon with fear. My friends also gave up. Therefore, finally I rode roller coaster for children with my RA. In this attraction, we needed arm strain like training machine. It was moderate fear and excitement for us. But we were a little tired.

Next is Cultural observations. At the Spokane Country Fair, I noticed that in America, people can have a tattoo. In addition, there is painting tattoo. Probably, it is for children. Tattoos are very common in America. Now I am studying about body modification such as tattoo and piercing in my class and I had never seen tattoo shop in Japan. Therefore, it is very interesting for me. My friends and I were very surprised! In the market, many items were sold such as frying pan, jewelry, pictures, and toys. But surprisingly, bath tubs was also sold! But I thought that it is like Japanese flea market. At an exit of the market, I saw some people singing ethnic songs. Their songs were indefinitely mysterious and beautiful. The cultural observations that I found in this Fair are very attractive for me. It is very interesting.

At the Spokane Country Fair, I was very excited and at the same time, I learned about American original festivals and culture. I realized that American festivals are a little from Japanese festivals, but each festival is awesome! I want to experience American festivals more. American festivals make me happy.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed. First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American Chisato Fujii When I saw this poem, I felt strong feeling of this poet like “I am an American,” and I also felt this poet’s voice like “Why am I not treated as an American?” I’ve never lived in this period of world war Ⅱ , and of course, I’ve never experienced this suffering and war, but I could feel people’s voice of this period thanks to this poet. Without these Japanese Americans’ voices, I couldn’t feel and understand their feeling and thought. When I understand this poem’s meaning, this poem made me sad, but I also understood Japanese Americans were proud of themselves in the middle of the war. I respect them and am proud.

Memorable Southwest Trip

I had an absolutely amazing time through on the southwest trip with fabulous teachers and friends for one week. I went to so many special places such as the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go there and I was able to have a various experiences at the Grand Canyon. In addition, I ate a ton of southwest food and spicy food during this trip. This trip was most memorable for me for three reason for that. Amazing Grand Canyon First, I had many most amazing memories at the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, so my dreams came true. We went to the Mather point at first. That was my first time to see the Grand Canyon. I was really surprised and impressed. It was like a picture, so I was really confused when I was saw that. Then I went to the next point to see the sunset. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I was really impressed.
