Extensive Grand Canyon

I had a good time to traveling to the southwest with Extension members from October 9 to 15. I really really enjoyed going to many gorgeous places, such as the Balloon Festival, some museums, Santa Fe, Acoma and various places of Arizona. Fortunately, every day had sunny weather. I especially liked the enormous Grand Canyon because I had never seen the same view while sightseeing. Moreover, there were some wonderful viewing points for the view at the Grand Canyon, such as Yaki Point. I thought that the view is different in accordance to the time and each point. The different view of the Grand Canyon were superb.

The most beautiful sunset for me
First of all, I watched the most beautiful sunset on my birthday, on October 13th at Mather point! The day was my first view of the Grand Canyon at the desert view. The view was amazingly wonderful so it was the best birthday present for me! Before the sunset, the sky was light blue and light purple. I liked the sky color. After the sunset, the Grand Canyon looked lonely. However the view was also fascinating. The Grand Canyon sunset was the best view I've ever seen.

 Great sunrise
Second, I watched the sunrise on October 14th at the same place where I had watched the sunset, but the view was completely different. I work up at 5: 30 so it was too early and really cold, however, I was incredibly impressed by the sunset. The sun rose slowly. It was shining brightly on the Grand Canyon so the view was romantic. The Grand Canyon gradually changed to an orange-like color so it looked passionate. I saw a mist such as fog after the sunrise. I wondered how was this natural phenomenon was made. I could watch this wonderful sunrise for the first time in my life at the Grand Canyon.
Enormous Grand Canyon

Third, I had an extremely fabulous experience because I could watch the nice view from a variety of angles in only one day. I walk the around Grand Canyon and I sometimes got on the bus. While taking a walk, I also could see big elk, squirrels. In addition, my friends and I stopped at Yavapai Museum on the way to the bus station. This museum had a lot of good art. I found that one Grand Canyon picture which looked just like 3D. The skillful picture impressed me. Surprisingly, we were able to go to almost all points and we didn’t get lost a way. I actually thought that each point was also perfectly different. I especially liked Hopi Point because the view was absolutely the most amazing and I was able to see the long a Colorado River! Furthermore, I was actually able to understand the meaning of Grand Canyon’s name meaning by seeing it with my eyes. It was really huge, deep and also grand!! At the Hopi point, some Indians stood at the edge of the cliff. It looked terribly scary because I couldn’t see the bottom of the Grand Canyon. However I really really enjoyed other views and I could take nice pictures. There were gorgeous views and I had a precious time.

To sum up, I could go to many stunning places of south west. Especially, I could amazingly enjoy watching a variety of large Grand Canyon views. These were awesome and all these views will be one in a million chance for me.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American Chisato Fujii             When I saw this poem, I felt strong feeling of this poet like “I am an American,” and I also felt this poet’s voice like “Why am I not treated as an American?” I’ve never lived in this period of world war Ⅱ , and of course, I’ve never experienced this suffering and war, but I could feel people’s voice of this period thanks to this poet. Without these Japanese Americans’ voices, I couldn’t feel and understand their feeling and thought. When I understand this poem’s meaning, this poem made me sad, but I also understood Japanese Americans were proud of themselves in the middle of the war. I respect them and am proud.

I really wanted to go there and I was able to have a various experiences at the Grand Canyon. In addition, I ate a ton of southwest food and spicy food during this trip. This trip was most memorable for me for three reason for that. Amazing Grand Canyon First, I had many most amazing memories at the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go to  the Grand Canyon, so my dreams came true. We went to the Mather point at first. That was my first time to see the Grand Canyon. I was really surprised and impressed. It was like a picture, so I was really confused when I was saw that. Then I went to the next point to see the sunset. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I was really impressed. The next day, I woke up early. I went to Yaki point to see the sunrise with teachers. That day was really cold and windy, so whe...
