My Swell Southwest Trip

I went to the South West from October 10 to 16 , also I visited to the Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Arizona. I was able to make a really good memories during trip. I had never visited place such as beautiful scenery and magnificent rich nature until then, so I was really impressed, and also I could speak and hear English than usual and could learn different culture. In addition, I fully enjoyed shopping and eating great foods. There are three reasons, I will never forgot these wonderful memories.

Amazing Grand Canyon
First, I could see really attractive sight and grand scene in the South West. When I arrived the Albuquerque, I was very surprised, because almost building were same color and adobe construction. There were really lovely sight. I had never seen such as great and awesome things. When I touched it, I felt that it is never destroyed in the future, because it really strong and hard. In addition, I could see sunset and sunrise of the Grand Canyon. It was pretty amazing, also I was
deeply struck by that. I thought I will never see such as excellent sight also I felt the world is really bigger than I expected. Moreover, all mountains are different shape, so they were really awesome and fabulous sight for me. That day’s I hardly used the bus, so I walked long distance. I walked about 13 kilometers a day. It is a very hard for me, but thanks to it, I could see wonderful scenery and lovely sky, and also feel the brilliance of nature. So, I could experience a lot of new lovely sight and magnificent scenery during this trip.

Fantastic Scenery In Acoma
Second, this trip is really helpful for me to improve my English skill also I could learn different culture. I have many chances to hear native American language during tour. It’s very difficult to understand clearly, so sometimes I had trouble to take notes. Because, it was a very fast for me, so I sometimes couldn’t get some word or vocabulary. When I was in this situation, I felt really pressed and nervous. In addition, when I talked with Acoma school students, I was always confused. Because those language were a little different to compare native American, so I couldn’t understand only one time what they said. But, I always try to listen, so it’s really good practice to listen different natural English. In addition, during trip I always speak English with my friend and teacher, so I was really able to enjoy conversation. Through that , I became confident in my English. Moreover, I could know about new information. For example, Acoma people still live in the “Sky City”. I couldn’t believe it, because there are nothing such as store or building in this area, so I realized that my life is really convenient. If I were Acoma people, I can’t live there. In addition there were really interesting culture such as some people wore military uniform, also they showed us military greetings. It was really awesome, also I was really impressed. For such a reason, I could that it is not only fun, but also learn many new things that will be useful for my life from now.

Great Mexican Foods
Third, I also really enjoyed shopping and eating Mexican foods. Mexican jewelry and foods were really unique and peculiar, so I really liked it. During this trip, I bought some pierced earring. Those design are Kokopelli, heart shape and dream catcher shape. I chose that I can only bought those in the South West, so I really glad to buy those. Also, there are my treasure. In addition I ate several Mexican foods such as Navajo Tacos, Chef Salads and Chili Cheese Fries. Those were really bigger than I expected, but I shared with my group member, so I could enjoy eating many kind of foods. When I ate a Mexican foods, I noticed one interesting things. It was that almost Mexican foods contain many beans. I really like beans, so I ate many beans during trip. Of course, those were really yummy, so if I visit the South West again, I want to try to eat many kind of Mexican foods. For such a reason, I enjoyed the shopping and eating to my heart’s content.

In conclusion, I could see wonderful scenery and grand nature, also had a valuable experiences to improve my English skill, enjoyed shopping and eating great foods. All experience made me impressed, grow and enjoy myself. And also, I think all experiences such as fantastic memories are first experience for me. I will never forget such as wonderful trip, and also the memory is precious treasure for me.

    The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. Respectable Voice of The Japanese American

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American Chisato Fujii             When I saw this poem, I felt strong feeling of this poet like “I am an American,” and I also felt this poet’s voice like “Why am I not treated as an American?” I’ve never lived in this period of world war Ⅱ , and of course, I’ve never experienced this suffering and war, but I could feel people’s voice of this period thanks to this poet. Without these Japanese Americans’ voices, I couldn’t feel and understand their feeling and thought. When I understand this poem’s meaning, this poem made me sad, but I also understood Japanese Americans were proud of themselves in the middle of the war. I respect them and am proud.

Memorable Southwest Trip

I had an absolutely amazing time through on the southwest trip with fabulous teachers and friends for one week.  I went to so many special places such as the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go there and I was able to have a various experiences at the Grand Canyon. In addition, I ate a ton of southwest food and spicy food during this trip.
