The Southwest was like a new world for me. Almost all of the experiences of the Southwest
trip were the first time for me and they stimulated my curiosity. I couldn't believe that Spokane and
he Southwest were the same country, because there were many differences, such as weather, food and
buildings. During the trip, I was impressed by some amazing scenery, people whom I met in the

trip were the first time for me and they stimulated my curiosity. I couldn't believe that Spokane and
he Southwest were the same country, because there were many differences, such as weather, food and
buildings. During the trip, I was impressed by some amazing scenery, people whom I met in the
trip and some local food.
When I visited Santa Fe, I was curious about buildings, because most of the buildings were rounded, low and brown. These buildings matched the street of Santa Fe. Next, the Montezuma Castle was an unbelievable building. It was in a cliff and located in a high place. Actually, I couldn't believe that people lived there in the past and after I knew why people lived in such a place, I thought how smart the people were.
The people whom I met in the trip were wonderful. During the trip, I talked to many strange people. Many people were very friendly and I enjoyed talking. I especially felt it at the Grand Canyon. When I went down the Grand Canyon, many visitors talked to me. Some people were not American people, but we were able to talk in English. In addition, some tourists knew Japanese, so they greeted me in Japanese. It was really fun, so I enjoyed not only the scenery of the Grand Canyon, but also talking.
I had two interesting experiences about food in the Southwest trip. I ate a lot of spicy food and Native Americans' food. When I went to Santa Fe, I ate soup which was called Chile Con Carne. At first, I didn't know it was a soup, so when I saw the soup I was surprised at the size of it and the smell. The soup was hotter than I thought, so it was hard to eat for me but a good experience. Also eating Native Americans' bread was a wonderful memory. After we visited Native Americans' school, they gave us their bread to us as the appreciation. It was delicious and I learned that food was important to express their feeling.
As you can see, the Southwest trip was very unforgettable to me. Every experience was in my heart and I was glad to know a new part of America. I realized that seeing by my eyes is more impressive than seeing by picture or television, so this trip was very meaningful to me.
