Amazing Trip

I went to Port Land trip. Here is famous for Lewis and Clark, I learned about it so much. Of course, I had a many opportunities to learn other things, for example, I learned about Oregons founds father, different culture and restaurant marketing. It was a really great trip for me.

At first, I’ll talk about my most favorite place. It is McLouglin House. Mr McLouglin called ‘The Father of Oregon’. At that time, animal’s fur is a symbol for rich persons. He had a hat that made from beaver’s skin, according to a guide, you needed 50 beavers to make one hat. When I knew about it, I was worried about over hunting, because beaver’s skin were used other stuff, like a blanket. And also, that house had a flag. He managed a huge company, it was kind like a country, so that flag made by him. Actually, at first I thought it was some country national flag.

Next, I could really have a good conversation at a college visit. There are many students who is learning English as a second language. The Students ages and countries are completely different, but, they looked so close with each other. When we talk English age and country are no matter for us. So, I like this part about learning English. And, I talked Japanese Girl. To be honest, I had disappointed about it, because I can talk with a Japanese so easily. However, her life was so attractive to me. After graduate from university, she got a job to save money, a few years later she came to America to learn English. In my case, my parents paid money for me, so, I want to go back America to learn English for myself. That’s why, I respected her so much.

And then, I went to Tebo’s restaurant. It is a local restaurant. So this restaurant are really loved by older persons who live in this area. Of course, dish was really good. I ate a cheese burger and strawberry shake. It was American taste and size. But also, I could feel warm and nostalgic atmosphere only found in a local restaurant. Clerks spoke to us so many times, even customers spoke to us so many times. When we tried taking a picture, one older man took a picture for us, but he didn’t know how to take a picture. So that photo was not clear, but that picture is one of my most favorite pictures, because it can make me have warm feelings.

Finally, I went to a Japanese American Memorial. In the 1940’s, Japanese Americans were sent to internment a camp become the U.S. government didn’t trust them. The camp was like a prison. War’s story makes me feel sad, but I have to accept things as Japanese and English learner. And there are many statues with written poems on them. I could understand from that poem, many Japanese suffered from discrimination and they claimed that we are one of the Americans. That statue showed us Japanese feeling that a person lived during the war and they couldn’t accept as one of the American. I could understand their sad feeling here more than in the text book.

As you can see, I learned many things though the trip. To be honest, until last semester, trips were just fun for me. However, this trip taught me American culture, history and warm feeling. And also, I could meet my life model during this trip. This trip was absolutely great. I cannot express in words. I
 will never forget this trip.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American Chisato Fujii             When I saw this poem, I felt strong feeling of this poet like “I am an American,” and I also felt this poet’s voice like “Why am I not treated as an American?” I’ve never lived in this period of world war Ⅱ , and of course, I’ve never experienced this suffering and war, but I could feel people’s voice of this period thanks to this poet. Without these Japanese Americans’ voices, I couldn’t feel and understand their feeling and thought. When I understand this poem’s meaning, this poem made me sad, but I also understood Japanese Americans were proud of themselves in the middle of the war. I respect them and am proud.

Memorable Southwest Trip

I had an absolutely amazing time through on the southwest trip with fabulous teachers and friends for one week.  I went to so many special places such as the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go there and I was able to have a various experiences at the Grand Canyon. In addition, I ate a ton of southwest food and spicy food during this trip. This trip was most memorable for me for three reason for that. Amazing Grand Canyon First, I had many most amazing memories at the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go to  the Grand Canyon, so my dreams came true. We went to the Mather point at first. That was my first time to see the Grand Canyon. I was really surprised and impressed. It was like a picture, so I was really confused when I was saw that. Then I went to the next point to see the sunset. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I was really impressed. The next day, I woke up early. I went to Yaki point to see the sunrise with teachers. That day was really cold and windy, so whe...
