The Greatest Happiness

It has passed more than two month since I came back MFWI, and I experienced a lot of things, through our life in Spokane. Extension program has some different program from regular program. The much best things of extension program I think is that I am able to meet many people AGAIN, especially host family is special. One of reasons that I decide to join extension program is I wanted to meet them again. And I could go on homestay alone through extension program. It was my best memory so far. Though homestay, I could understand American culture and make good relationship with them.

sweet host family and gorgeous home
First, I went on the Halloween party at my host family’s house on October 31th. It was totally fantastic, because I can’t experience this party in Japan and I could know one of American holiday. My host family is amiable, they invited friends and we had a party with 10 people. Everyone who took part in this party wore Halloween costume. I can’t imagine my parents and grandparents wear such as interesting costume. And I went to trick or treat with my host family neighbor for giving candies. Neighbor were also amiable and kind. I also can’t imagine I go to the neighbor and say “trick or treat”. It is absolutely good opportunity to make nice relationship with neighbor. We Japanese, hardly have such a nice party. I thought Japan follow American this example. It’s going to decrease the problem between neighbors. I had a marvelous time with them.

Next I could go on homestay ALONE. Of course I was nervous and I had a lot of anxiety, because it was my first time to go on homestay alone. But after that, I feel I became stronger than before. To tell the truth, last semester, sometimes I rely on my roommate who go on homestay together. But this time, I didn’t have a friend I rely on during homestay. I think it bring me up. In addition, I became closer to my host family than last semester. Last semester, we started to introduce each other, but this semester, we already knew each other. It is precious time which I can appreciate through only extension program.

As you can see, homestay give me many opportunity understand and experience American culture. And through go one homestay alone, I become strong person and bring me up. So, I really thank my host family and respect them huge hearts. I’m looking forward to meeting them next.

Neccesary Shopping

I can do amazing shopping in the U.S. I don’t actually go shopping so often in Japan because I don’t want to spend money. However, I can’t help buying things here. One of the reasons I love the U.S. is shopping. I am so excited to go shopping here more than in Japan. A shopping in America is fantastic for three reasons. My Favorite Clothes of Holister First of all, there are many kinds of shops in Spokane. That means I have many choices to buy something. In Japan, I can’t buy easily things I want because Japan doesn’t have my favorite shops. In addition, I have to pay more in Japan than in America. If someone asks me my recommendation in America, I’d introduce incredible shops, such as Hollister , Bath and Body , Victoria’s Secret , and American Eagle , and Yankee. These shops are highly famous in the U.S, and I can't buy products of Hollister and Bath and body and Victoria’s Secret in Japan except online shopping. The other thing, I can visit other shops in Japan, but I’m s...

My Precious Experience

The Awesome View at the Fair I have been having a good time since I came here. The teachers, RAs and staff at MFWI welcomed us warmly, so I was very happy and I am also happy now. My life at MFWI is little different from the last semester, but I'm really enjoying this life. Anyway, we went to  the Spokane Interstate Fair  on Tuesday, and I had wonderful experiences that I had never experienced before. The food was very appetizing. First, I was very hungry when we arrived there, so I ate a funnel cake, a big piece of chicken and some pizza. I had never eaten such a big cake and a piece of chicken, so I was excited and happy to eat them. They were very tasty, so I wanted to eat more food. Then, I noticed that a difference between America and Japan. Japanese festivals or fairs also have many branch stores and the food they serve...

My Unbelievable Southwest Trip

I experienced a lot of amazing things for seven days with my absolutely wonderful teachers and friends from October 15-21 and learned a lot of Southwest culture, history, and nature. For example, we went to about 12 museums and facilities, such as the Pueblo Cultural Center, the University of Mexico, and some churches in New Mexico and Arizona. Therefore, I kept busy on the trip, but it became something I have never experienced because everything I saw was new to me. There are three things that especially impressed me. First, I was attracted to the buildings of New Mexico. These were really different from Spokane, Boston, or Washington D.C. For example, I went to Old Town in Albuquerque. Then I noticed that almost all the buildings were made of adobe. Adobe means mud brick in Spanish, so the buildings I saw were brown and some parts were air blue. I felt comfortable there. I also saw a plaza and a church which were adobe style buildings. The plaza is the most central part in Old T...
