Astonishing experience at WSU

I had a amazing opportunity visiting WSU last Tuesday. It was the first time for me to go to such a enormous university in America. This experience excited me, surprised me , and made me
grateful very much.
wonderful meeting

First, I was very surprised that so many things at university . When we entered there I could not recognize the dividing line between a city and WSU. There was a long and steep main street, and many school buildings lined along this road. I saw several pedestrian bridges connected to campus. And also, it made me so excited that there was a huge football ground, the modern museum, a wonderful library, and a student's building, a place the students to relax on the campus. That night my house group saw a picture of the football stadium filled with audience because my RA Becki is a WSU student, and its scale was great. I can't believe that university has a perfect place for game. The building seemed to be almost department for me. There were some restaurants, the Starbucks, the bank and small game center! If I was a student in WSU, I would go there and enjoy a lot. I went to the ice cream shop with my partners, but it took very long time to reach there. WSU was like a city for me.

Next, I was very glad to learn many international differences when I met exchange students there. One of my partners was a Chinese girl and another was a Taiwanese girl. We had a lot of conversations and I was surprised with the difference of our cultures even though we all are Asian people. For example, recently, not all but many men do housework and women have strong influence more than men at home. In Japan, it is not common, so I was fascinated with it. I laughed when I was asked "Why do Japanese girls always make up their faces?" All things are new for them although we think they are usual. I learned it is difficult to answer simple questions from them. I answered "It is manner for us." However, I was not sure. Additionally, I was also interested in difference of our English pronunciation. It was the first time for me to listen to or communicate with not native speakers. In fact, their English had their own strong accent, but basically they spoke very fast like a current of river. Therefore, I realized again that Japanese English is not smooth because of our own language. I think it was amazing experience to know difference among Asian culture.

Finally, I was so grateful to meet exchange student, new friends. They both were very kind and cheerful. I was also happy because they remembered my name soon and call me like real friends. We communicated a lot in English, so I thought if I had chosen other ways, not English, I could not have met them. English gave me a wonderful meeting. I appreciated that my decision to choose English as my way. I would study English harder to expand the possibility to meet as many people as I can. Then I would learn a lot about cultures and what people think and how they live around the world.

My visit WSU was very meaningful and valuable for me. This new meeting people and exciting experience made me courage. Again, I recognized that it was right for me to choose English to study.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American Chisato Fujii             When I saw this poem, I felt strong feeling of this poet like “I am an American,” and I also felt this poet’s voice like “Why am I not treated as an American?” I’ve never lived in this period of world war Ⅱ , and of course, I’ve never experienced this suffering and war, but I could feel people’s voice of this period thanks to this poet. Without these Japanese Americans’ voices, I couldn’t feel and understand their feeling and thought. When I understand this poem’s meaning, this poem made me sad, but I also understood Japanese Americans were proud of themselves in the middle of the war. I respect them and am proud.

Memorable Southwest Trip

I had an absolutely amazing time through on the southwest trip with fabulous teachers and friends for one week.  I went to so many special places such as the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go there and I was able to have a various experiences at the Grand Canyon. In addition, I ate a ton of southwest food and spicy food during this trip. This trip was most memorable for me for three reason for that. Amazing Grand Canyon First, I had many most amazing memories at the Grand Canyon. I really wanted to go to  the Grand Canyon, so my dreams came true. We went to the Mather point at first. That was my first time to see the Grand Canyon. I was really surprised and impressed. It was like a picture, so I was really confused when I was saw that. Then I went to the next point to see the sunset. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous. I was really impressed. The next day, I woke up early. I went to Yaki point to see the sunrise with teachers. That day was really cold and windy, so whe...
