Interesting Fair

Cute Animal
I had a wonderful time at Spokane County Fair last week. There were a lot of interesting things there. There was wonderful food, music, shops and animals. I would like to talk about a lot of interesting exhibitions. I enjoyed seeing interesting animals and exhibits.

First, I saw a various animals there. I can't believe that there are animals at the fair. So it was interesting to me. And there were a cows, sheep, buffalo, horses, llamas, goats and more. I have never seen these animals before. And we can feed these animals if we bought some food. But I'm afraid of animals, so I didn't do that. But many Americans did that, then almost all animals come up to them. These animals were so friendly, and powerful. So it was so fun.

Cool Car
Second, the exhibits were interesting. I saw a hearth which was sold to visitors. These hearth were on fire. This night was so cold, so we could get warm and I chatted around the hearth with my friend. It was so fun. And many American chatted too. I have never seen hearth before, so I thought I want to a hearth in my house. And I realized this shop have a very good idea to let customer buy this. It was interesting to me. Also I saw some cars which were sold to visitor. These car were so cool, fashionable, classic and vintage. And these car in this car shop also have good idea to let customer buy this car. The decorations were so cute and light up, these were nice. And I never seen these car in Japan. Also I saw a bath tub exhibits, so I was surprised like "What!!? Why is there a bath tub here?" It's weird, I thought this fair is like shopping center. So all these exhibits were unusual to me.

Beutiful Night View of  Fair
In conclusion, I really enjoyed this fair. I thought this fair is very open to people from kids to elderly people. And I could experience a lot of interesting, surprising, unexpected American culture at the fair. So it was really interesting and funny. If these events happen again, I want to go to the fair again!

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American

Respectable Voice of The Japanese American Chisato Fujii             When I saw this poem, I felt strong feeling of this poet like “I am an American,” and I also felt this poet’s voice like “Why am I not treated as an American?” I’ve never lived in this period of world war Ⅱ , and of course, I’ve never experienced this suffering and war, but I could feel people’s voice of this period thanks to this poet. Without these Japanese Americans’ voices, I couldn’t feel and understand their feeling and thought. When I understand this poem’s meaning, this poem made me sad, but I also understood Japanese Americans were proud of themselves in the middle of the war. I respect them and am proud.

My Unbelievable Southwest Trip

I experienced a lot of amazing things for seven days with my absolutely wonderful teachers and friends from October 15-21 and learned a lot of Southwest culture, history, and nature. For example, we went to about 12 museums and facilities, such as the Pueblo Cultural Center, the University of Mexico, and some churches in New Mexico and Arizona. Therefore, I kept busy on the trip, but it became something I have never experienced because everything I saw was new to me. There are three things that especially impressed me. First, I was attracted to the buildings of New Mexico. These were really different from Spokane, Boston, or Washington D.C. For example, I went to Old Town in Albuquerque. Then I noticed that almost all the buildings were made of adobe. Adobe means mud brick in Spanish, so the buildings I saw were brown and some parts were air blue. I felt comfortable there. I also saw a plaza and a church which were adobe style buildings. The plaza is the most central part in Old T...
