My Memorable Fabulous Trip

We, all extension students went on Portland trip from November 10 to 13. This was last trip for us. Portland is the best city that American want to live, and also Portland is known as City of Rose because the temperature is appropriate to grow roses. On this trip, I could learn about history of Portland and have a wonderful time with my nice friends and teachers.



With Nice Students
First of all, I had a wonderful experiences at different two schools. On the first day, we visited the Columbia Basin College. We met students who are learning Japanese and made an origami crane with them. And then I introduced them my presentation topic. My topic is Karaoke. They were very interested in Japanese culture and history, and they asked a lot me questions. This opportunity became good practice for me. On the second day, we visited Portland English Language Academy. I was really surprised because this school is in the shopping mall. I had never seen the school that is in such an incredible place. We made some groups, and there are 4 groups in my group. We took a class. There are students who are from China, Thailand or Taiwan. At first, students had a test, and then we played some games. It was a lot of fun. After class, I asked the teacher about good points that the school is in the shopping mall. The answer was that it is very convenient for students, because they can go shopping easily after classes. How nice this school is! I had great time at these school.



Second, I really enjoyed shopping time with my lovely friends. We could have a lot of shopping time on this trip. This trip was last chance to buy a lot of souvenirs, so I bought many souvenirs for my family and friends. And also I could buy a very nice long coat. I really like long coat. I had wanted a new one for a long time, and I was looking for it. Finally, I could find it on this trip. There was a really nice long coat in The Limited, and I fell in love with it at first sight. However, it was very expensive for me, so I was undecided whether to buy it or not. I couldn’t give up and decided to buy it. At that time, the clerk told me that this coat was 60% off. Eventually, I could buy it in over half price. I was so happy. My shopping time was awesome.

Wonderful Scenery
Finally, I was impressed by Multnomah Falls. This falls is the second tallest year-round waterfall in the United States after Yosemite Falls. When I saw this falls, I was surprised because it was really large. I like seeing beautiful nature, so I was really excited. And also I really like this sound. Unfortunately, the weather was not good and it was drizzling. However, I could feel like nature’s power. It was really amazing and beautiful.

To sum up, I had a terrific time on Portland trip. Thanks to this trip, I could learn about American history and culture. And also I enjoyed shopping and foods, and I was impressed by beautiful scenery. I am thankful for everyone I met on this trip.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

    The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous.
