Last Fabulous Trip

OLD TOWN

Our second trip in this semester was Portland trip on November 10 to 13 with extension students and awesome teachers. I felt something new again through this trip. It was different with Southwest trip. It took a lot of time to go Oregon state, but I liked the atmosphere of Oregon. I had known Portland is the most popular city where people in the world want to live. This rumor was real. I could feel it actually by my sight through some opportunities.

First, I enjoyed two opportunities to talk with students in Oregon. On the day 1, I went to Columbia Basin College. They came to MFWI in last semester, so I could meet them again. The beginning of talking, we made a paper crane by Origami, and talked about ourselves and my presentation topic. I was glad to talk about Japanese humanoid robot to them, because they were surprised by my information and they asked me some question for me. It was good for me to know their reaction. Then, they take us to college tour. The campus was huge, and there was a art museum. We talked a lot about our hobbies, school life, and Japan. I really want to meet them again. Next, on the day 2, we visited to Portland English Language Academy, PELA. I was really interested in that school. There were students who came from each different country such as Saudiarabia, Korea, and Japan. They were so amazing, also they are learning English same as me. The conversations with some country’s students was fun. The teachers were also nice. This school was in the mall, it is interesting and cool. I never think about going school in the others country more before this opportunity, but this school makes gave me interesting. I really want to go this school. I got something to know about real culture from students in this two school. I really enjoyed talking with them.

Awesome Lunch@Tebo's Restaurant
Second, I ate wonderful foods during this trip. The dinner of first day was Pizza at Flying Pizza. It was delicious. These pizza’s tastes were new for me. I never ever ate these tastes. Also, I could see a real flying pizza. A pizza was frying while a cook makes the pizza. On the day 2, I was so full, because I ate a lot. Before lunch, we went to Creo Chocolate Factory. There were a lot of kind of chocolates. The store was very cute. I could learn about process of making chocolate. I always can’t stop to eating a chocolate. At this shop, I ate a mint brownie and coconut macaron. Both of these sweets made me happy. At lunch, we went to Tebo’s restaurant. This restaurant was my presentation topic in American study class, so I excited to go there. In fact, their food was delicious. I ate a hamburger, a french fries, and a milk shake. However, I wanted to go there in the summer, because the most popular dessert, strawberry shortcake is only in the summer. I want to go again in the summer to eat it. On the day 3, I went to Voodoo doughnut shop. I choose a Grape flavor, because I really love purple color and it was so cute and sweet. It also atmosphere of the shop was very cute. I was satisfied by these all yummy foods.

Countless Number of Books
Finally, I enjoyed the Powell’s Bookstore. There were unbelievable amount number of books. The store was classified by color of each book’s genre, Maybe I could not go to all zone. If I went there by alone, I would get lost. I didn’t buy any books, but I really enjoyed to look around the stores. I heard from my friend that a book store makes people to want to go bathroom, because the book’s smell is similar to toilet paper, it makes us it. It’s interesting natural phenomenon. Actually, some of my friends went to bathroom. I don’t know that Japan has such a huge bookstore, so I want to look for in Japan. I was enjoying even just walking around many books.

To sum up, I didn’t know about Portland so much, but I really love Portland now. I think I want to go again. Also, this trip was last trip of MFWI for us. I don’t want to think it was the last, but all of trip were very nice and I experienced a lot of different things in each state. Thanks to everyone I met, and of course, my friends and wonderful our escort teachers!!! Anyway, the rumor of Portland I heard was true.

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican chip

My most Amazing Three Memories of the Southwest Trip

Last week, I went to the Southwest with all of the Extension students. Before the trip, we learned about history and culture of the Southwest in American west class. So I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip. But I couldn’t imagine that I could get a lot of memories and experiences on this trip. During this time, we went to New Mexico and Arizona. In New Mexico, I went to Santa Fe and New Mexico University. After that, I went to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Each place has different culture and geography. So I was really surprised and impressed by them. Finally, I got three most amazing memories of the Southwest Trip. First, one of my most amazing memories of South West Trip was downtown in Santa Fe. First of all, I was really impressed by Adobe buildings. I had never seen Adobe buildings before and I thought their design was totally different design from Spokane. The color of the adobe was brown and some of the walls were turquoise blue. So there were a lot of com

Really Faburous Southwest Trip

I had an absolutely amazing experience on the Southwest trip in mid-October. I enjoyed a good deal of beautiful scenery of nature and city areas, delicious food and performances, and culture. I spent a lot of wonderful time with my friends and teachers in Santa Fe, Black Bart’s Restaurant and the Grand Canyon. I enjoyed a good deal of beautiful scenery of nature and city, delicious food and performance, and culture. First, my one of impressive places was Santa Fe Plaza. There were brown houses and buildings made of adobe, and the doors and window frames and decorations were colorful. I like passionate red and turquoise blue color because these colors match the adobe brown color. Also, there were many gift shops in the Plaza, and we could find a lot of native Americans gifts such as dream catchers, pottery, fabrics, unique fashion accessories, dishes, and traditional clothes. I bought a dreamcatcher, some pretty earrings, a ring, and postcards, so I was very happy. It rained at nig
