I went to the Portland and Oregon from November 10 to 13. These are were really different from South West. So I had a very new wonderful experience in there. All places were amazing for me, so I was really impressed. For example, I spoke a lot of English more with my friends, teacher and a college student to compare Southwest trip, I really enjoyed shopping in the place that is the Washington Square Mall and Pioneer place because of no tax, and also I could learn Japanese American in the Japanese-American Memorial. I was moved by all stone that was written valuable poems in there. So, that was a very fulfilling trip for me.

First, I had a lot of fun conversation with college students at Columbia Basin College. I could speak English a lot in there, so I got confidence thanks to this opportunity. My partner’s name was Anna. She has learned Japanese, so she really interested in Japan. First, I taught her how to make a crane. It was so difficult to teach, but after teaching she was really glad. She said that I have made a crane but I could make it well than before. I was also very happy to hear such a things. After that I presented my presentation topic. Before I presented my three presentation topics which is Abashiri prison museum, Shiretoko National Park and Otaru city, I really worried about whether she could understand my presentation contents. Because I thought it was so difficult to make her understand. However, when I presented it, she listened seriously to my presentation, and also when I didn’t know how to pronounce a difficult vocabulary, she gently taught me. After the presentation, I asked that whether she could understand and it was interesting. Then she said to me that it was really interesting topic, and also your speaking English was good. This is the first time that I was told that by a native speaker, so I was very glad also I had confidence in my presentation topic. This opportunity was really nice chance to speak English and to practice my presentation, so it was really helpful for me and also I was able to enjoy speaking English.

Pretty Christmas Version Pierced Earring
Second, I really enjoyed shopping in the Washington Square Mall and Pioneer Place. It was first experience to do shopping without tax, so I was able to be satisfied. I bought a pierced earring which was Santa Claus pattern and reindeer pattern in the Washington Square Mall. I have wanted Christmas version accessory for a while now. It was really pretty, and also I felt in loved with these, so I bought quickly these without hesitating. In addition, I bought pants and bag in the Pioneer Place. I was so surprised when I paid a money, because these were so cheaper than I expected. Also, the bag was less than half price compare Japanese shops. I was really glad to buy good items. Moreover, I was able to let go of all my stress. This was the first time that I did shopping so much in this semester, so I am really satisfied now.

The Most Valuable Poem For Me
Finally, I could learn the heart of Japanese American at then in the Japanese-American Memorial. There were a lot of stone which was written some poems. Their feelings got through to me. The poem which have remained in my heart the most in all poem was that “ Sure, I go to school Same as you. I'm an American. The reason why I grasped that I think the person was discriminated against by American governments, so the person couldn’t go to the school as American. I felt really sorry for the person who was innocent for anything. All poems taught me the situation at that time. Moreover, I think I must thank for the present my life. I was able to know the feelings on a Japanese American at that time.

In conclusion, I was able to have a new nine experiences in this trip such as speaking English a lot, buying some pleasant items without tax and learning Japanese American. Portland and Oregon have a lot of wonderful place for learning spots and really fun spots. For such a reason, I had great time in this trip and also I want to go there again.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...

My Unbelievable Southwest Trip

I experienced a lot of amazing things for seven days with my absolutely wonderful teachers and friends from October 15-21 and learned a lot of Southwest culture, history, and nature. For example, we went to about 12 museums and facilities, such as the Pueblo Cultural Center, the University of Mexico, and some churches in New Mexico and Arizona. Therefore, I kept busy on the trip, but it became something I have never experienced because everything I saw was new to me. There are three things that especially impressed me. First, I was attracted to the buildings of New Mexico. These were really different from Spokane, Boston, or Washington D.C. For example, I went to Old Town in Albuquerque. Then I noticed that almost all the buildings were made of adobe. Adobe means mud brick in Spanish, so the buildings I saw were brown and some parts were air blue. I felt comfortable there. I also saw a plaza and a church which were adobe style buildings. The plaza is the most central part in Old T...
