My Super Big Challenges!!

I went on the South West Trip from October 12 to 17 with my friends and teachers as a school trip. I really enjoyed the South West Trip, thanks to my friends, teachers and people who I met during trip. Anyway, I will talk about 3 my challenges on the trip.

Grand Canyon
My fast challenge was telling my opinion correctly. I told my opinion but I always could not tell my opinion "correctly". In the second day of the trip, I had complaints about the teacher's behaviors because I wanted to learn a lot of things in Santa Fe but they did not have information about Santa Fe. To be honest, I thought " It is a waste of time" so I told my complaints. I also tried to tell mt complain correctly. Then she moved for us so I was glad about I could tell my complaints correctly in English. I thought I must tell my complaints in the correct way, if I have complaints.

Jump!
My next challenge was talking with American as much as possible. I am always talking with teachers and officers of MFWI so I thought " I must talk with Americans more except teachers and officers of MFWI." before the trip. So during the trip I tried to talk with Americans. Thanks to this challenge, I could make friends at the University of New Mexico. We talked Japanese and American animation. I enjoyed talking with them because I love Japanese and American animations. Then I tried to talk with clerks in Santa Fe. They were very kind and they asked me about Japan. I could not talk about Japan well but I was glad because I talked in English and they could understand my English. And I really enjoyed talking with all these people.

The last challenge is getting out of hotel to see a beautiful view and sight at night and in the early morning.
Beautiful Sunrise
Actually, in my free time, unfortunately, it was rainy so I could not enjoy it all but I enjoyed spending time with my friends. At night, it became sunny and I could see beautiful stars. I had never seen so many stars! I was really really excited. I also saw the Milky Way for the first time in my life. We were in the hotel but my friends and I wanted to see more stars and the Grand Canyon. So we decided to get out of the hotel. We were very nervous because we had to get on the last bus. If we missed the last bus. we could not go back to our hotel. We rode the second bus from last one. We could not ask a driver about the last bus well but we made it and arrived at a point of  Grand Canyon. While we were gazing at the beautiful stars, we were talking about a lot of things. Then, we could ride the last bus without missing and we went back to our hotel. We thought if we go to a point of the Grand Canyon early morning, we can see stars and the sunrise of the Grand Canyon. So we promised to gather at 5:15am. Early the next morning, I was really excited because of my challenge. Then we got on the first bus and went to a point of the Grand Canyon. We could see very beautiful dawn. We could not speak anymore. I wanted to stay there but we had to go back to our hotel before the teachers noticed about it. So we went back to our hotel. I think we could have very precious experiences in my life.

Anyway, Thanks to my challenges and my precious friends, I could do a lot of things on the trip. You may think those challenge are little challenge but those challenges are super big challenge for me. I  want to experience a lot of challenges that I think I can do from now on.

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...

My Unbelievable Southwest Trip

I experienced a lot of amazing things for seven days with my absolutely wonderful teachers and friends from October 15-21 and learned a lot of Southwest culture, history, and nature. For example, we went to about 12 museums and facilities, such as the Pueblo Cultural Center, the University of Mexico, and some churches in New Mexico and Arizona. Therefore, I kept busy on the trip, but it became something I have never experienced because everything I saw was new to me. There are three things that especially impressed me. First, I was attracted to the buildings of New Mexico. These were really different from Spokane, Boston, or Washington D.C. For example, I went to Old Town in Albuquerque. Then I noticed that almost all the buildings were made of adobe. Adobe means mud brick in Spanish, so the buildings I saw were brown and some parts were air blue. I felt comfortable there. I also saw a plaza and a church which were adobe style buildings. The plaza is the most central part in Old T...
