Great Time at the Grand Canyon

I had a wonderful time at the Grand Canyon. I was looking forward to going there since I decided to join the Extension program. We were blessed to see the good view although it was sometimes rainy and stormy. We were lucky that we were able to experience all kinds of weather. The experience will be a great memory in my life. I will especially never forget the memories such as impressive view, enjoyable free-time and meeting many people.



First of all, I was impressed by many kinds of overwhelming views. I sensed enormous nature and earth`s history. I can`t explain how it is big. I am small if I compare myself with the Grand Canyon. Seeing the history is interesting. I learned many things from many kinds of rocks. For example, we can see old rocks on the bottom and young rocks on the top. One of my favorite views is the view at the Mather Point. We can fell close to the Grand Canyon. Also, the view made me calm. I have a lot of homework and tight schedules this semester, so I`m always pressed by them. However, that time I was able to forget everything. At night, I saw the stars. It was beyond my description. When I find a shooting star, I was so happy. As you can see, I awesome views fascinated me.

Secondly, I enjoyed free-time very much. On the trip, most of our schedules were decided, but we had free-time all day at the Grand Canyon. It was my first time to spend such a long time with only my friends on a trip, so I was extremely excited. We planned everything, time to get up, restaurants and so on. Actually, our plan couldn`t go as scheduled, but it was really fun. My group members were flexible and had consideration and nobody complained, so everyone was always happy. I was so glad to have such friends. Especially I enjoyed dinner time. We bought foods at a grocery store and ate at our room together. It is rare to eat in lodge together, so I got pleasure. As a result, free-time on the trip was really good.

Finally, meeting many people at Grand Canyon is one of my best memory. I met many foreigners and talked to them. I was tremendously happy when I was able to communicate with foreigners in English. Each conversation was short, but it was memorable. I really remembered the conversation with a woman and man who helped us to find a shop. When we looked for the shop, they listened to our conversations and taught us where the shop is. At first, I was surprised, because we didn`t ask them anything. However, I realized their kindness and felt the warmth of their feeling. All in all, my best memory is conversation with many foreigner at the Grand Canyon.

In conclusion, I had wonderful time at Grand Canyon. First, I was moved the view. Also, I enjoyed free- time. Third, meeting many people at Grand Canyon is super memorable.

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. Fabulous Southwest Trip

    The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous.
