Extension students traveled to the Southwest for seven days in
October. I really enjoyed the trip. There were many histories and nice views.
Also, there were many delicious foods, and I ate too much. They were different
from the East coast. I had great experienced which I had never experienced
before. I really enjoyed Albuquerque, Santa Fe and the Grand Canyon.

First of all, we enjoyed Albuquerque. In the morning, we
visited the Pueblo Cultural Center. There were many exhibits about Pueblos. I
learned a lot of histories about them. Their life and ideas were very
interesting for me. We also visited the University of New Mexico. There are
seven museums and students can watch free movies. I’m so jealous to be able to
watch free movies. I ate lunch with a student who went to that university. He
wanted to teach Spanish to Japanese people. I was so glad to hear that. I
recommended to him to visit my hometown, Osaka to teach Spanish. Moreover, I
saw many Adobe buildings. The design was unique, and different from
Spokane. Albuquerque was so nice.

Second, we enjoyed Santa Fe. We visited many places. My two
favorite places are the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and the Plaza. In the Georgia O’Keeffe,
there were many great paintings. I was so surprised that one of her paintings
sold 44 million dollars. I thought I visited a super great artist’s museum. In
the Plaza, many people sold accessories outside, and buyers were able to
negotiate the price. Also, they sold accessories of Turquoise in the street. I
was so surprised. I heard they need a special license to sell them. I bought
accessories at a good price.
Third, we enjoyed Grand Canyon. We saw a great view there.
It was not so good weather at first, but I was impressed. In the free day, I
walked around Grand Canyon with my friends. Fortunately, it was nice weather,
and I saw a very beautiful view. I took many photos, and I was so happy. I
haven’t never seen such a wonderful view. I was moved. I can’t forget this
experience.
As a result, I had great days and awesome experiences on the
Southwest trip. I was so happy to be able to go there and see many precious
things. I learned a lot of things. This trip was delightful. I will never
forget this trip. I really want to go there again if I have a chance.
