Enjoyable Experience

Last week, MFWI students enjoyed Spokane County Fair. There were many wonderful and exciting things at Spokane County Fair. I saw many kinds of rides included roller coasters, food and shops. I was so excited. I thought these are different from Japanese culture.

Exciting Rides
First, I rode 5 rides there, and I noticed 2 differences. The first is that almost all the rides were turning around. While I rode them, the machines were revolving, so I felt bad after I got off them. In Japan, there are many machines like them, but they are not always revolving. Sometimes the machine's action changes. Because of this, most people don't feel bad after getting off it. Additionally, the lit up rides in Spokane were so beautiful. I think these are more beautiful than Japanese ones.
Tasty
Second, I saw many kinds of food there. The food was different in Spokane. I smelled many kinds of delicious food. I ate a Pulled Pork Sandwich, and it tasted a little sweet and meat was very tender. I also saw other people's food, and I was surprised at the quantity. I thought I couldn't eat all of it if I ordered it. Also, doughnuts and waffles were too sweet for me. I noticed that the food was exactly fattening and greasy. Of course, Japanese food is healthier than American food. I couldn't understand why American people were able to ride the rides after they ate the greasy food.
Nice Music
Finally, I dropped in at many shops there, and I noticed differences. I was surprised that there were Japanese animation's goods there. I thought these goods didn't sell so much in Japan. I think these are rare goods. I found the shop which sold cowboy hats. The shop reminded me of American history. Also, I found the shop which sold American cultural items, and next to the shop, people performed with American traditional instruments. In addition, I found a tattoo shop there. In Japan, the tattoo is not good, so I have never seen these kinds of shops at the amusement park. I was so surprised. Many shops reminded me of American culture.
In these things, I experienced American culture while I enjoyed food, shopping and rides. These surprised and delighted me a lot. Also, I learned differences between America and Japan.

Neccesary Shopping

I can do amazing shopping in the U.S. I don’t actually go shopping so often in Japan because I don’t want to spend money. However, I can’t help buying things here. One of the reasons I love the U.S. is shopping. I am so excited to go shopping here more than in Japan. A shopping in America is fantastic for three reasons. My Favorite Clothes of Holister First of all, there are many kinds of shops in Spokane. That means I have many choices to buy something. In Japan, I can’t buy easily things I want because Japan doesn’t have my favorite shops. In addition, I have to pay more in Japan than in America. If someone asks me my recommendation in America, I’d introduce incredible shops, such as Hollister , Bath and Body , Victoria’s Secret , and American Eagle , and Yankee. These shops are highly famous in the U.S, and I can't buy products of Hollister and Bath and body and Victoria’s Secret in Japan except online shopping. The other thing, I can visit other shops in Japan, but I’m s...

My Tremendous Portland Trip

Have you ever been to Portland? I could learn a lot of things in Portland. I like Portland so much. Especially, I enjoyed Portland English Language Academy, McLoughlin House and Powell's City of Books.      First, Portland English Language Academy was an enjoyable place for me. Before I entered the class, I was really nervous, because I can't keep talking with people whom I meet for the first time. However, this time was totally different. I had an activity of conversation to talk with every student. It made me comfortable. After that activity, I had a conversation about students' research such as selfie and future jobs. It was really interesting for me because I could hear various opinions about that. Then, the teacher recommended international students to talk about three favorite places in Portland. I learned more about Portland. Those activities were really helpful for me to talk with international students.   ...

My Precious Experience

The Awesome View at the Fair I have been having a good time since I came here. The teachers, RAs and staff at MFWI welcomed us warmly, so I was very happy and I am also happy now. My life at MFWI is little different from the last semester, but I'm really enjoying this life. Anyway, we went to  the Spokane Interstate Fair  on Tuesday, and I had wonderful experiences that I had never experienced before. The food was very appetizing. First, I was very hungry when we arrived there, so I ate a funnel cake, a big piece of chicken and some pizza. I had never eaten such a big cake and a piece of chicken, so I was excited and happy to eat them. They were very tasty, so I wanted to eat more food. Then, I noticed that a difference between America and Japan. Japanese festivals or fairs also have many branch stores and the food they serve...
