Do you know your sister city Nishinomiya, Japan well? Nishinomiya city has been a sister city of Spokane from 1961. Nishinomiya city is in Hyogo prefecture and is located in the middle of Japan between Osaka city and Kobe city. Nishinomiya has a rich natural environment including mountains, rivers, and the sea. The presentation will discuss first interesting Nishinomiya history through its activities as a sister city and the Great Hanshin – Awaji earthquake, second a famous baseball stadium in the city, its history and how it is different between Japanese baseball and America baseball, and third a famous shrine and interesting events at the shrine in Nishinomiya.
