The Extension students went on the Southwest trip from October 14th to 19th and we had a totally adorable time even though our airplane had some problems, and we couldn’t depart on time. As the matter of fact, at the end of trip, I forgot that, because it was quite delightful and precious trip. We enjoyed this trip so much meanwhile we learned a lot of things about the Southwest. There are many fabulous things, especially the Grand Canyon, Acoma Pueblo and Loretto Chapel.
First of all, needless to say, the Grand Canyon was the most impressive place for me. I had never seen such an amazing view until I visited there. I couldn’t believe that I live same earth as the Grand Canyon. Especially, sunset and sunrise were awesome. When the sun was rising, the mountains around the sun’s color turned red. I will never forget this view. It was the most beautiful view I have ever seen. At the free time, I and my friends hiked around the Grand Canyon, then we were able to see other view. I can’t express the description minutely, because it was too gorgeous to say a thing. What a small human I am. I want to visit there again before I die and I want to show my family this beautiful view.
In addition the Acoma Pueblo is also my favorite place. It was amazing place too. I can’t imagine that people live in here. Because I couldn’t see any shops, stores, schools, a firm, a hospital and so on the things which we need for our life. And I saw the reservoir. It looked like the big puddle. It looked to skid in old days in time. People who live in Acoma pueblo were so kind. People I met were greeted with smile. When we visited Native American school, we could see the traditional singing and dancing. It was so enjoyable. I thought it was a little bit parallels Japanese Bonodori, because the dancing and singing were repetition many times. When I visited Acoma Pueblo, I thought that it's as if we were in another world. I want to experience to live Acoma Pueblo.
Last, Loretto chapel was definitely beautiful. The miraculous staircase was very nice. I was surprised because I saw the miraculous staircase in chapel for the first time and it was wonder things for me. It was made without a pillar and twice 360 degree turns. There were some pictures of wedding ceremonies in the chapel. If I get married in the future, I want to hold the ceremony such a nice chapel. It was the most gorgeous chapel of all the chapel I have ever seen.
These are my most favorite places in the Southwest trip. As you can see, I was satisfied with this trip. My world became bigger and bigger through this trip. I’m a very lucky girl, because I could experience such a unusual things. I have to appreciate my parents, and of course my teachers, Extension friends and people who met me in this trip!!
