Brilliant Heart

Fabulous Group 14
A week has passed since I arrived at MFWI and I'm always busy. I am sure that it's because of homework. Anyway, I had a great time at the Welcome Banquet yesterday.

First of all, I enjoyed talking with teachers and RAs. It was a nice opportunity for me. They have been to many various countries and most of them can speak other than English such as Spanish, German, and French. I was very surprised by the fact, for I had thought Japanese people must acquire 2nd or 3rd languages because Japanese isn't a very common language in this world. I learned that even people who speak English study other languages to learn about different cultures and communicate with foreigners. I realized that MFWI's teachers and RAs are very eager to have personal goal and they are full of confidence. And then, teachers here often say" I'm here to help you. Please use me". Learning about this from teachers and RAs encourages me.
Next, we were excited singing "We are the world" as EXT students. Actually I conducted the song and arranged it. We had prepared to sing the song hard during this summer vacation for the Welcome Banquet. On a first day we met to practice, all of EXT members were looked so nervous and their singing voices were very low, so I'm worried about their will. However, yesterday, I saw tremendous smiles and heard powerful good sound from them. I felt very happy that I was able to be a conductor.

Finally, all of the MFWI's students and stuffs are so brilliant and make me comfortable now. I'm really looking forward to my life with them.

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican ...

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...
