My Interesting Portland trip

Last week, all Extension students went on the Portland trip. Portland was different from other cities that we had been to such as on the Southwest, East Coast and Seattle trips. For example, the atmosphere of city. I had some interesthing experiences.

One of the interesting placs is Powell's. Powell's is the biggest book store in the United States. It contains over 68,000 ft² (6,300 m²) of retail floor space. I have never been to such a huge book store in my life. I like bookstores so I was very happy to visit. Powell's has 7 colored section rooms which was divided by kinds of books. I was also surprised because this bookstore is opend 365 days a year. Powell's is too huge to see all of bookstore. If you love books so much, naybe you can stay all of day because there were amount of books that I have never seen that. I bought some books about makeup and some Japanese comics. Powell's also has cafe so after buying book, I could enjoy reading while drinking coffee.Anyway, I enjoyed shopping and observing there.

Also, Pioneer Square Center is the one of the my favorite place. There are many shops in the mall so I could enjoy shopping very much. However, I was surprised because I saw some students bought some things of famous brands such as Louis Vuitton, COACH and Chanel! In Portland, Most of things are free tax so we could buy expensive things that we can' buy usually. However, when I heard the price, I couln't make attempt to hide my surprised. Although there was no- tax, brand things are very very very expensive! Of course, I couldn't buy anything. I bought only some cosmetics and a headband. I had a good time in here.

At the end of trip, we went to Multnomah Falls. I was looking forward to visit here because I love nature! Multnomah falls is a waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge and it is the second tallest year- round water fall in the United States after Yosemite Falls. Whan I got close to the falls, I could take negative ion! It made me refreshed ! We went up mountain as seeing wonderful nature and huge Columbia River. The sight of Colombia River affected me profundly. We also could see some salmons in the falls. I was tired very much because we walked too much but we had a good experienced.

Through this Portland trip, I found many interests in Portland. I could learn many things about Portland. These experiences were very important for me. This trip gave me good experiences. It was an AWESOME trip!

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican ...

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed. First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous.
