My Hyper Feeling

I had an exciting time on the Portland trip. I experienced many things such as meeting friends, learning history, and relating Japan. Also, this trip gave me various deep impressions.

My Precious Friend
First, visiting university and college was exciting for me. I made great friends at Columbia Basin College. They study Japanese, and they listened to my presentation. Whenever I met people who study Japanese I’m glad because they are interested in Japan. Also a girl whom I talked with is interested in my topic. It was so pleasant and felt secure. Then I visited Reed College. This college was unique. This college doesn’t have a grade system and students are very smart. I thought it was a strange college. I learned there are such colleges in America. Also I visited Portland state University. I watched a volleyball game. It was fun because I felt identification by cheering team. Whenever I visit universities and colleges I am impressed.

Fabulous Multnomah Falls
Second, I was moved by Multnomah falls. When I went to Multnomah Falls, I was reminded of Japan, because there is a lot of many natural beauty, and the atmosphere is similar in Japan. When I went to Ginkaku temple I experienced a similar situation. There are rocks which have moss and the road which is difficult to walk on was. I reminded of Japan. It made me miss Japan a little bit. Also I never forget to try to claim the mountain because to see the top of the fall. We try to claim top of the fall, it was very long distance. How many time I think “Not yet?” When it was close to the top, suddenly Timothy said go back please. Because the road became muddy so we can’t walk. Eventually, we couldn’t arrive at the top. I was tired at a stretch. However I saw beautiful view while I was claiming. I was moved.

Mysterious Mcloughlin House
Last, I was really surprised at the Mcloughlin house. When I visited McLoughlin house I listened to a short lecture. There were fascinating facts. At the McLoughlin house doesn’t have kitchen because the kitchen was huge at the time and the fire is dangerous. However he served meals to people six times, there is order, first is women, second is children and third is men. It was interesting for me. Also there were no bathrooms in his house, because of smell. If people want to go to bathroom in the night, they used a small pot. The pot was cute, I was amazed. I was also amused before I visited his house I noticed there are many bed room in his house, but there are only four room and the guide said sometimes two people sleep on one bed. That was strange to me. His house was amazing for me.

My feeling was that this was a busy trip. This trip gave me strong impressions. Besides this trip was last time in one in this semester. I visited many states and cities this year. I learned much history and met many friends. These are my precious memories. I had a great time on the Portland trip.

My Valuable Southwest Trip

Last week, we took a trip to the Southwest for 7 days. This trip was an absolutely wonderful memory. I had never been to these areas so I was stimulated by every things, for example, cactus, adobe style buildings, Native American culture and amazing dessert views. It is one of the most interesting trips I ever took, because I experienced some rare things like visiting Grand Canyon, visiting high school and so on. On this trip I could understand about Indian culture from a folk art museum. I would like to introduce some my best memories on this Southwest trip. My first best memory is Georgia O’Keef museum. Actually, before this trip, I was not familiar with her and didn’t know about any of her artworks, but I was looking forward to visiting here because I like art museums. Her artworks were very unique, abstract and absolutely fabulous, and these were very fresh to me. I especially liked bone’s paintings which one of the most famous her artwork, because the color contrast is very c...

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...
