Fantastic Fair

Amazing Amusement
I have experienced some interesting things in America. One of them was at the state fair. The fair had many farm products like jams, and vegetables. I could see many kinds of farm animals such as pigs, cows, horses, and goats. I especially experienced three fantastic things there.

First, I was surprised at the size of the foods. I knew that foods in America are always big from my experiences in regular program last semester. However I was amazed again. I bought a Funnel cake, but I shared it with my friends because of its huge size. Although it was too huge, I could enjoy it. It was delicious. Also I was surprised at the popcorn. A sack of popcorn was very big. I have never seen such sizes, so I was shocked.

Second, I was excited about the rides at the fair. There were a lot of interesting rides. At first, they looked very dangerous, but I tried riding one of them with my friend. The ride kept spinning for a long time. Its name is zipper. It was amazing! We kept crying while we rode it. I have never seen or ridden such an interesting ride before. I was happy to experience new feeling in America.

Finally, I was surprised at the weather and clothes which Americans wore. When we went to the fair, it was a very cold day for me. In addition to that, it was held in the evening. Although I wore a sweater, I was cold. However some Americans wore T-shirts and short pants. It was difficult for me to understand. Also I thought they were brave. The weather and clothes were so different than any festival in Japan.

Wonderful State Fair
Those experiences are really interesting and wonderful for me because I can feel the cultural difference between Japan and America. I can see many things which are not in japan. I was happy to take part in the fair and enjoyed it. All in all, the fair was fantastic for me.

Neccesary Shopping

I can do amazing shopping in the U.S. I don’t actually go shopping so often in Japan because I don’t want to spend money. However, I can’t help buying things here. One of the reasons I love the U.S. is shopping. I am so excited to go shopping here more than in Japan. A shopping in America is fantastic for three reasons. My Favorite Clothes of Holister First of all, there are many kinds of shops in Spokane. That means I have many choices to buy something. In Japan, I can’t buy easily things I want because Japan doesn’t have my favorite shops. In addition, I have to pay more in Japan than in America. If someone asks me my recommendation in America, I’d introduce incredible shops, such as Hollister , Bath and Body , Victoria’s Secret , and American Eagle , and Yankee. These shops are highly famous in the U.S, and I can't buy products of Hollister and Bath and body and Victoria’s Secret in Japan except online shopping. The other thing, I can visit other shops in Japan, but I’m s...

My Precious Experience

The Awesome View at the Fair I have been having a good time since I came here. The teachers, RAs and staff at MFWI welcomed us warmly, so I was very happy and I am also happy now. My life at MFWI is little different from the last semester, but I'm really enjoying this life. Anyway, we went to  the Spokane Interstate Fair  on Tuesday, and I had wonderful experiences that I had never experienced before. The food was very appetizing. First, I was very hungry when we arrived there, so I ate a funnel cake, a big piece of chicken and some pizza. I had never eaten such a big cake and a piece of chicken, so I was excited and happy to eat them. They were very tasty, so I wanted to eat more food. Then, I noticed that a difference between America and Japan. Japanese festivals or fairs also have many branch stores and the food they serve...

My Unbelievable Southwest Trip

I experienced a lot of amazing things for seven days with my absolutely wonderful teachers and friends from October 15-21 and learned a lot of Southwest culture, history, and nature. For example, we went to about 12 museums and facilities, such as the Pueblo Cultural Center, the University of Mexico, and some churches in New Mexico and Arizona. Therefore, I kept busy on the trip, but it became something I have never experienced because everything I saw was new to me. There are three things that especially impressed me. First, I was attracted to the buildings of New Mexico. These were really different from Spokane, Boston, or Washington D.C. For example, I went to Old Town in Albuquerque. Then I noticed that almost all the buildings were made of adobe. Adobe means mud brick in Spanish, so the buildings I saw were brown and some parts were air blue. I felt comfortable there. I also saw a plaza and a church which were adobe style buildings. The plaza is the most central part in Old T...
