Congrats, Nadeshiko Japan! |
This year, two unbelievable things happened in our
country, Japan .
One was the terrible tragedy that is the Tohoku earthquake. The other one was
the fabulous miracle that is Women’s World Cup. The disaster took away
everything and is still difficult to get over; however, the soccer team’s victory made the
Japanese nation really happy and cheered us up so
much. I think the keyword of these two things is,
“Never give up!”
We will never forget what happened on March
11th. On that day, the biggest earthquake hit Tohoku , Japan .
Lots of people were killed by the earthquake and tsunami, and more people lost
their precious family and friends. It was the most terrible disaster ever. Many
other prefectures and countries supported Tohoku, but there are still lots of
problems. However, Tohoku people try to do their best to recover all the time.
For example, JR which stands for Japanese Railways completely recovered in only 48 days. It’s because workers of the company tried to repair
with all their force. Of course,
their life does not perfectly return to their former one. It seems the endless work, but they do not give
up.
Japanese
were depressed because of the disaster, but the championship in Women’s World
Cup eased out sadness.
All of us did not expect such wonderful news. Nadeshiko Japan which is the nickname of the Japanese women’s soccer team accomplished the
miracle. I think the reason of this victory is their efforts. We know their
abilities are certainly great, but besides that all of them practiced so hard without
resignation. Especially, the campaign, Homare Sawa has played as a member of
the varsity for 18 years. However, this crown is the first time for Nadishiko,
so it means she did not get it before although
she trained for such
a long time. Before they became the
champion, they were not featured
so much. Nevertheless or therefore, they practiced hard to win. Can you imagine
how difficult it is? They have never
given up, so they came off the winner.
“Never give up” is one of our national characteristics, I
think. If something hard happened or no one expects much, we always try to do our best. I learned that by comparing these
occurrences. Thus, we can get over the biggest earthquake like Nadishiko
accomplished their victory.
