Fascinating Tour

I had lovely trip at Portland with amazing Extension students and teachers. It was last trip of this semester, so I feel a little sad, but I really enjoyed. We visited a lot of admirable places and I had good experiences at there, but there are three impressive place for me.

First, CBC is one of my excellent memories because I enjoyed communicating with students of Japanese class at CBC. Their Japanese were very good. They were very friendly and interested in Japanese culture. Teacher is Japanese woman and she was also, very kind and friendly to us. I had admirable conversation with my partner. She is high school student, but she study at college. We can share about our second language, for example, what is the good way to study second language, or what is the most difficult part of second language, and so on. She already has a dream in the future, so I was very impressed because I didn't have a dream when I was high school student. She wants to be English teacher in Japan, that's why she is studying Japanese now and she'll study abroad to Japan. I told my partner about my cultural research during delightful conversation. In fact, I didn't have confidence that whether my topic is interesting or not for Americans, and it was first time to explain about it, so I was nervous, but my partner looked interesting and she understood about my topic a little, also she told me that it is interesting, so I was happy and I have a little confidence about my topic. It was pleasant opportunity for me.

Second, Reed college is also impressive college for me because I was very moved the system of Reed college. The system of this college is owner system. The most surprised fact was the students can take exam wherever they want. I think it is the greatest example of owner system. I think it is helpful for students. All of class are small class, so each class is a teacher and ten students, so it is easy to communicate with teacher. I also think it is good class system for students because class system is very similar to MFWI. I think MFWI is great place to study, so I think class style of Reed college is wonderful system for students. This college can take class variety, I think it is also good system because students can learn a lot of things. I heard this college is owner system because teachers trust the students. I think it is good relationship between teachers and students. If it is possibility, I want to study at Reed college.

Finally, Powell's Book store was very fantastic! I was very surprised because there are a lot of books than I expected. There are corner of type of books, and there are a lot of computer to search books, so I could find books which I want. I bought 'Kira-Kira' which is written by Cynthia Kadohata because I read her book named 'Weed flower' at reading class. I decided to buy this book before trip, so I was happy to buy it. I spent a lot of time at language corner because I like language, so I saw a lot of language books. Powell's book store was too huge to see all of corner about two hour, but it was very fun!!

I really enjoyed this trip. I felt very nervous and stressful these days, so it was good time to remove my stress. I had unforgettable memories at Portland.

My Valuable Southwest Trip

Last week, we took a trip to the Southwest for 7 days. This trip was an absolutely wonderful memory. I had never been to these areas so I was stimulated by every things, for example, cactus, adobe style buildings, Native American culture and amazing dessert views. It is one of the most interesting trips I ever took, because I experienced some rare things like visiting Grand Canyon, visiting high school and so on. On this trip I could understand about Indian culture from a folk art museum. I would like to introduce some my best memories on this Southwest trip. My first best memory is Georgia O’Keef museum. Actually, before this trip, I was not familiar with her and didn’t know about any of her artworks, but I was looking forward to visiting here because I like art museums. Her artworks were very unique, abstract and absolutely fabulous, and these were very fresh to me. I especially liked bone’s paintings which one of the most famous her artwork, because the color contrast is very c...

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...
