Differences As An Regular Or Extension Student

Actually, I had guessed that the extension program would be different from regular program; however it was much different from my guessed.  I noticed so many differences about outside and inside as an extension student when I came back here, such as the motivation, environment and our daily life.
First, student’s motivation is so much higher than before because we have the more strong will toward studying.  Also, I am surrounded by students of various levels, so I am a little nervous about my English level, such as can I follow their level?  Also, I have new teachers and their attitude is changed; especially their behavior is much stricter about homework and communication.  I felt a little anxious, but when I am more used to their level, I will improve my English skill, so I will do my best.
Second, the environment around me changed.  It is warmer than before, so the scenery like grass is completely different!  Moreover, last semester, I lived in Covington, and I live in Helen Keller now, so the house is very different, such as the bed, bath and living room.  My room became bigger than last semester and it is good, but it is too big for me.  In addition, we can go to outings only two people.  Before that we couldn’t go shopping less than two people, but we know most things about Downtown or North town.  We already understand the rules, so we can enough care about ourselves. Also our advisers’ changed, new advisers are so nice, and one of the advisers, Mieco is pregnant and her baby would be twins!!  It is big news for my friends in Japan who were here last semester.
Finally, I had time to take a nap in the evening last semester, but now I don’t because I have a lot of homework and I have to do other study or research for my presentation if I have time.  Before that, I saw some movies and did exercise, but I hardly have time for this now.  I can say I am so busy, but I can also say I lead a full life.  I noticed that I can experience something new, such as I will join SFCC’s class and I will also go Volunteering.  These are first time activities for me, and I can’t experience it in Japan.  I want to keep challenging myself with something new experience I can do only here.
This program is completely different from last semester about the motivation, environment and our daily life.  Of course, I’m a little nervous, but at the same times, I’m looking forward to having great time here.  I hope that I would be grown up myself by this program.

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican ...

Fabulous Southwest Trip

The Southwest trip was absolutely amazing because I leaned the culture of the area a lot. I spent 7 days in the southwest and I impressed by people who live there and by their culture. These things were totally different from Japan and the people there preserved their traditions carefully. I talk to a lot of Americans and I saw wonderful nature during the trip. There are three absolutely wonderfu and amazing places that I enjoyed.     First, I went to a lot of museums and all of them were very interesting. I especially liked The Museum of International Folk Art. The museum has more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 countries! My favorite object was a smiling skeleton doll. This object’s theme was Day of The Dead. When I saw it, I remembered COCO which is a Pixar movie. I also liked The Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American artist and she painted a lot of flowers and nature. I think her paintings are brimming with kindness ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...
