Wonderful Countries Beyond my Imagination

On September 27th, the extension students visited the WSU. It is a wonderful university in south Spokane!! On last semester, there was also an opportunity visiting another university, which is much larger than WSU, but it was just visiting there. To my pleasure, this time I could talk with a lot of people in WSU. In addition, they were from various countries and I spent the day with two of them who are from China and Saudi Arabia. My dream that I have had since I was a little child is so simple! This is to talk with a lot of people from various countries and just enjoy this conversation!! It seems easy for it to come true, yet actually it is a little difficult because I hardly have opportunities to talk with foreigner. This time, it was delightful experience for me. Through talking with them, I learned their countries and I felt global.

One of them, the guy who are from Saudi Arabia told me some cool things about himself and his country. To my surprise, there are 11people in his family and almost all of them are in different counties now to study its language or just to take a trip. I have never heard of such a wonderful global family!!! I learned this country has a lot of oil, so the government can support some families with that money. Also, he showed me a lot of his pictures. In those pictures, his family was wearing traditional clothes and one of them, his sister got marry recently was wearing a superb wonderful wedding dress!! I was moved by this dress!!! In addition, he showed me the central city which has a lot of high building like Japan. My image of this country was only desert, so my curiosity of that place became bigger!! Someday, I want to visit there. Thanks to him, I could learn in detail about this country.

Also, I learned unknown world of China from Chinese guy. In his picture, he wore clothes like a military clothes. Actually, this clothes was for the military. To learn that he had the duty to have military training in China was the first time for me. In Japan, this duty is unbelievable because the Constitution of Japan says that the military is not permitted because of World War. From his pictures I learned the difference between politics in China and Japan and it was a learning experience for me.

Of course, I know about their countries such as an atmosphere of cities and what kind of race the people are. However, this information is only from TV and it was different to get information between from TV and from person. I can imagine what it is like more from talking to a person than from watching TV.  My wish to talk with a lot more people has become bigger!!  I want to treasure this mind now and continue to improve my English skill!!

My Valuable Southwest Trip

Last week, we took a trip to the Southwest for 7 days. This trip was an absolutely wonderful memory. I had never been to these areas so I was stimulated by every things, for example, cactus, adobe style buildings, Native American culture and amazing dessert views. It is one of the most interesting trips I ever took, because I experienced some rare things like visiting Grand Canyon, visiting high school and so on. On this trip I could understand about Indian culture from a folk art museum. I would like to introduce some my best memories on this Southwest trip. My first best memory is Georgia O’Keef museum. Actually, before this trip, I was not familiar with her and didn’t know about any of her artworks, but I was looking forward to visiting here because I like art museums. Her artworks were very unique, abstract and absolutely fabulous, and these were very fresh to me. I especially liked bone’s paintings which one of the most famous her artwork, because the color contrast is very c...

Unforgettable Southwest Trip

I went on a totally amazing Southwest trip with my classmates. The trip was my first time to go to the Southwest so everything was new to me. Sarah, Anikke and Bethany came with us. They made our trip more exciting. I’m happy I could go on this trip with them and I had a lot of great experiences. First, I really enjoyed New Mexico. It was chilly but not too cold. I went to the Old Town in  Albuquerque, New Mexico. I liked the Old Town because there are many cute things and good restaurants in there. For example, I found a gate that was decorated with a lot of red chili peppers. I had never seen anything like that before so I was very surprised and it looked like a lot of flowers from a distance. The red chili peppers were absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, I found a great restaurant. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they have really delicious Mexican food. They gave me some Mexican chips for free and recommended that I eat the chips with honey. I really like Mexican ...

Completely amazing trip

I had a good time visiting the Southwest USA with Extension students from 15 to 21, October. It was an education trip and I experienced new things and there was a lot of nature which is comfortable for me. I was looking forward to going on the Southwest trip for a long time. I have image that the Southwest is very hot but this place was cold than Spokane. It was interesting that the temperature was totally different in the same place. There were three emotions that I experienced on this trip. First, I was moved by the beautiful landscape of the Grand Canyon. It is absolutely enormous. When I look down the cliff, I remembered the teacher's caution for us that there are lots of people who die and I scared. I and my roommate wanted to see the sunrise so we tried to got up at 4:00 a.m. and then we could see the sunrise which was really fabulous. After that, we decided to rent a  bicycle but we changed our mind and because we had lots of time. Surprisingly, we walked 10 miles aro...
