Have you ever tried to work on your weak
points for changing your personality by yourself? If I were asked this
question, I would say YES. In America, when saying it more specifically at MFWI, the teachers have the highest
expectations of the Extension students. This is not the exaggeration for me. We have a duty to
react to teachers in any way, moreover, we have to have mind of challenge to
everything around us.
We have many opportunities to have curious conversations with native speakers who are local people more than last session. Since I came back here, I was confused to the differences of the class between Spring and Fall session. When we have discussion, I need to speak out to them about my thoughts. Of course, they do not care about our English levels. Surely, they do not know how much we can speak English and how much we can understand what they say. To tell you the truth, when I listen to them, my poor brain often stops listening to them because their speaking is unexpectedly fast. Then, I become shy about speaking English little by little and I cannot concentrate on their conversations. For some reasons, I lose my confidence because I cannot understand what they say and my ideas cannot come out.
Through many of discussions with native speakers, I learned that it is important for us to speak out even with my clumsy English. It does not matter. Who cares? Nevertheless, I concerned about my English skills. I would like to experience many things even though I might feel shame about my skill. I will say good-bye to my shyness on speaking English while I am in America as soon as possible.
